Shelforce nominated for manufacturing excellence award.

Window and fire door manufacturer Shelforce has been nominated for the Manufacturing Excellence Award at this year’s Scale Up Awards 2023.

The business, which specialises in supplying high quality windows, doors and fire doors to local authority building projects, including Birmingham City Council, is hoping to win back-to-back Scale-Up Awards having been named as Diversity Champion at last year’s event.

Shelforce also received The Kings Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility), the highest official UK award for British business, in April thanks to its inclusive approach to training and employment, with 75% of its workforce having a disability.

Shelforce Business Manager Howard Trotter said: “We are delighted to be nominated for the Manufacturing Excellence Award at this year’s Scale-Up Awards, which is a wonderful event. It was fantastic to win Diversity Champion last year, but there is so much more to our business. We produce high-quality products in a hugely professional and competitive marketplace and have grown over the last 12 months.”

As a high-growth business, Shelforce posted record turnover in April, and have invested in a new software system and strengthening its full-time team to cope with increased demand.

The Scale-Up Awards, organised by leading media company Business Leader, recognises the best of UK business and a world-class independent panel of judges, which includes Dragons’ Den investor Touker Suleyman, assessed hundreds of entries to get to the final shortlist.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala evening on November 16.
