Leading Birmingham window and door manufacturer Shelforce is a finalist for Diversity Champion at the Scale-Up Awards 2022.
The company, which specialises in providing high-quality PVCu and aluminium products to local authority building projects, working closely with Birmingham City Council, has an inclusive approach to training and employment, with 75% of its workforce having a disability.
Howard Trotter, Shelforce’s Business Manager, said: “We are delighted to be nominated for Diversity Champion at the 2022 Scale-Up Awards.
“It’s testament to the company culture we have at Shelforce, the leadership and management, and the initiatives we have in place here for our staff.
“We have created a hugely supportive work environment that both inspires and benefits our team, and this has created exceptional staff satisfaction, development and increased employee engagement with Shelforce’s values and goals.”
Last year, Shelforce was crowned 2021 Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) Business of the Year, won Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion at the Asian Business Chamber Awards and Equality Trailblazer for the West Midlands at the British Chamber of Business Awards, while also featuring on ITV’s Made In Britain to tell the company’s unique story.
The ScaleUp Awards, which saw more than 400 entries overseen by its judging panel, is organised by Business Leader, the leading media company for entrepreneurs, founders, CEO’s, investors, advisors and business leaders.
The glittering awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, November 3 at the Tobacco Dock, London and will be hosted by award-winning comedian Russell Kane.
More than 500 business leaders will be attending, including VIPs such as Piers Linney, Touker Suleyman and many more.
